Wakefield Poyser Partnership has from inception worked actively on many projects within the conservation field. This includes work on all disciplines of conservation from the renovation, alteration, conversion and extension of existing listed property within conservation areas to new build within the a conservation area.
We have over the years strived to find a balance between the legislative
agencies and interested parties who wish to protect our built heritage
and those who might wish to utilise such buildings in the modern world
for current day living.
The
Malthouse
front elevation Malthouse Care Home – a former Victorian Maltings
Grade 2 listed which was converted into sheltered housing and then re-converted
into a care home of 1670m2
The practice will undertake almost any size of commission within this field.
This can be based within a private residential property to a large industrial
commercial conversion.
Knowleton Lodge
A former Victorian Coach House that has extensively been refurbished
and extended to the current format.
Much of the work undertaken by the practice relates to change of use for
redundant listed buildings. Many of the buildings referred to the practice
are former agricultural farm buildings. Modern farming with a high dependency
on large mechanised combines makes former agricultural buildings appropriate
for alternative use.
Patient End Farm
A typical Victorian Model Farm
Grade 2 listed showing conversion into a range of residential dwellings.
